The Booker Promise Foundation is a comprehensive college and career readiness program begun in 2019 and designed to ensure that every Booker High School student has the skills and resources necessary to develop to their fullest potential, not just in high school, but throughout their entire lives.
The Booker Promise strategic plan is backed by specific actions set in place throughout the entire school. Central to the project is the College and Career Center (“CCC”) which is dedicated to implementing programs and services to assist students realize their life dreams. The curriculum includes boot camps during lunch and after school which range in topics such as: college admissions; financial planning; essays and applications; essential life skills training; and college and career planning.
The essential life skills training supports student personal development through its focus on improving communication skills, interviewing techniques, proper dress and professional requirements to succeed in the “real world.” In addition, the CCC matches students to scholarships based on their individual profiles. Comprehensive mentoring services, career and life planning guidance, academic and behavioral monitoring, college success counseling and individualized interventions are also provided.
The Booker Promise Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation which is independent from Booker High School and the Sarasota County School District.
